Across six courses it covers both traditional and Agile/Scrum ways of running projects — planning, budgets, risk and stakeholders — and ends in a capstone with reusable templates. It assumes no background, and the skills apply even outside formal PM roles.

It is not a PMP, which needs real experience and its own exam, so treat this as a foundation and portfolio-builder rather than an advanced qualification. If you already manage projects, start higher up. What matters most for hiring is the capstone and how you present it. Google keeps it current (as of 2026).

No. The PMP requires years of documented project experience that no course can provide, so it's out of reach for most beginners. This is an entry-level certificate aimed at getting you started; what it can do toward a PMI credential is cover the required education hours.

Yes, and this is genuinely useful: it provides over 100 hours of project-management education, which fully covers the CAPM's 23-hour requirement and contributes toward the PMP's 35-hour one. So beyond the skills, it doubles as a head start on a formal PMI credential — the CAPM being the natural next step.

Yes — it covers both traditional (Waterfall) and Agile ways of working, with Scrum getting dedicated treatment: the three roles, the ceremonies, and managing a backlog. That balance reflects how real teams actually run projects, rather than teaching one method in isolation.

It's a credible entry-level credential with a capstone portfolio and access to Google's employer network, but on its own it rarely lands a role. How you present the capstone, and any real coordination experience you can point to, matter as much as the certificate itself.

For most beginners, this first. It's more practical and beginner-friendly, teaches the actual skills, and then covers the CAPM's education requirement — so rather than choosing between them, you can use this as the on-ramp and sit the CAPM afterwards if you want the PMI credential.
