It orients you to the field — what an entry-level analyst actually does, the core frameworks and the CIA triad — in plain language with nothing assumed. With over 1.75 million learners and a 4.8 rating it is a well-tested starting point, but on its own it is orientation rather than training.

Because it is an intro course, it is light on hands-on tools and does not make you job-ready; the practical skills come later in the certificate. If you already know security basics, start further in. Google maintains the programme, so the material reflects current entry-level security work (as of 2026).
