Over about two and three-quarter hours it establishes the foundational terminology and, importantly, the legal and ethical boundaries of the work — the groundwork before any tooling. That makes it a sensible first step into CEH-aligned study, and the wrong expectation if you came for hands-on exploitation labs.

One thing to be completely clear on: this course does not grant the CEH credential. The official EC-Council CEH is a separate, expensive proposition — the exam alone runs roughly $950 to $1,199, on top of accredited training or eligibility requirements. Treat this as inexpensive aligned study on a Pluralsight subscription (Standard about $29/month or $299/year, Premium about $45/month or $499/year, 10-day trial), not a shortcut to the badge (as of 2026).
