For most beginners, yes. It's a practical, affordable way to learn SQL hands-on — especially if your goal is data analysis rather than database engineering.

This is aimed at people who need to get answers out of data, not build the databases themselves. Analysts, marketers, anyone stepping into a data-heavy role. It gets you writing queries early instead of sitting through theory, which is a big part of why it keeps showing up on lists of first SQL courses. If you can already join two tables without looking up the syntax, it will feel slow, and you can safely pass.

The one firm piece of advice is on price. Do not pay the sticker. Udemy shows it at around $75, but it goes on sale most of the time, so most people pay somewhere between $12 and $20. At $15 it is an easy yes. At $75 it is not, because a motivated beginner can get a long way on free SQL material. Wait for a sale, buy it then, and you keep the lifetime access to come back to.
