This is not the official Certified Ethical Hacker credential. It teaches the syllabus, but the real CEH is a separate EC-Council exam with its own price and rules: the exam alone runs roughly $950 to $1,199, and to sit it you need either accredited training (around $1,900 to $3,500) or two-plus years of security experience.

So treat it as background and skills-building, not a shortcut to the badge, and know it isn't a first step in IT security either; you'll want networking and basic security first.

If your real goal is hands-on penetration testing, practical certifications like OSCP or PenTest+ carry more weight with technical teams. The attack methods it teaches stay relevant and the tools are current (as of 2026).
